Ingredients

  1. 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  2. 1 cup milk
  3. 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  4. 1 teaspoon almond extract
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  7. 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  8. 2 large eggs
  9. Unsalted butter, for cooking and serving
  10. 6 slices Texas toast (or thick-sliced bread of your choice)
  11. 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  12. 1 cup blueberries
  13. 1 cup strawberries
  14. 1 peach, sliced
  15. Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, milk, granulated sugar, almond extract, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt and eggs in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add some butter.
  3. Soak the bread slices in the mixture on both sides. Cook the bread until golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Sprinkle with the powdered sugar. Top with the fresh berries and peaches. Serve with maple syrup and butter.
