A simple yet delicious cookie.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 30 mins
Servings: 3

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound ground beef
  2. 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  3. 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  4. 1 (14.5 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes
  5. 1 tablespoon salt, or more to taste
  6. 1 teaspoon dried basil
  7. ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  8. ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  9. ½ teaspoon onion powder
  10. ¼ teaspoon ground thyme
  11. ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  12. 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  13. 3 zucchini, cut into long strands

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef and black pepper in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease.
  2. Stir tomato sauce, tomatoes, salt, basil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and red pepper flakes into ground beef; cook and stir until sauce is warmed through, about 2 minutes. Stir in tomato paste.
  3. Mix zucchini “noodles” into sauce, pressing down to fully submerge them; simmer over medium-low heat until zucchini is tender, about 10 minutes.
  4. For best results of noodle shapes, run the zucchini through a spiralizing tool.

Recipe is missing information: at which point do you add salt? One tablespoon is way too much. Cooking the zucchine for 10minutes is way too long. May be blanch the zucchine in salted water, drain and then add to the sauce.

This probably would’ve been really good if it wasn’t so salty. A Tablespoon was WAY to much salt! If I try this again, I might start out with a teaspoon instead. Also, it definitely could’ve used more zucchini. 3 wasn’t enough. I had a ton of really salty sauce left over.

Really easy and tasty. Will definitely make it again.

This was absolutely delicious! I used crushed tomatoes instead of whole (it’s what I had), didn’t add the paste (didn’t have it). My husband recently needed to drop gluten and he loves pasta. This was our first zucchini pasta attempt and he loved it! Will definitely be investing in a spiralizing tool! So happy I found this!

I made it and it was delicious! Except I did not add 1 Tbsp salt that is entirely too much. I didn’t add any at all and it was delicious in my opinion.

I used an Italian seasoning blend, with the red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. I also used marinara sauce instead of the tomato sauce and what not. But the overall idea of the sauce and cooking the zucchini noodles in the sauce worked beautifully. Delicious with the seasoned tomato sauce and zucchini!

This was delicious, especially the sauce! I like my sauce to cook longer, so I added some water and cooked it until it thickened. I also used fresh basil because I grow it on my porch. I cooked the zucchini for10 minutes, but it was a little crunchy. Next time, I would cook it longer.

Flour noodles upset my stomach, the zucchini noodles didn’t. I liked it I’m going to make it again.

The family loved it! I added mushrooms and spinach plus doubled the zucchini, excellent! I used ground turkey instead of ground meat and blended it with spices before putting it in the pan with garlic and onions.

If I had ordered and been served this at my favorite local restaurant I would have been amazed. Simple but as good a plate of spaghetti as I’ve had ! Excellent.

Agree great

Wow we loved this!! I did make a couple of changes. I used garlic chicken sausage and added mushrooms and spinach. My boys said it was the best meal I ever made!!

Just made it without any meat-delicious! I recommend spreading the spiral zucchini on a cookie sheet lined by paper towels and sprinkled a little salt on to help dry out first before you cook it.

Too spicy for me. I would need to reduce the spice quantities a bit to enjoy it. Also, I think I prefer ground turkey over ground beef in red sauces.

I used Italian sausage and added onions, a bit of green and red peppers and mushrooms….excellent and will be making again.

This was my first dish I have ever cooked in my entire life and my whole family absolutely LOVED it! We are only starting to venture into a Keto lifestyle therefore the zucchini pasta definitely gave a good first impression of the diet. It tasted like actual spaghetti, only crunchier. Thank you so much! I will definitely do it again.

Love it! Added mushrooms to the sauce I used Prego omitted red pepper flakes

My zucchini didn’t come out as very well shaped noodles so it wasn’t close to spaghetti. Took away the spaghetti feel.

This was very tasty, everyone loved it. The only changes I made was I used a lot less salt and Morningstar vegetarian crumbles instead of meat. I also added a bit of cheese on my sons.
David Terrell
