Slow Cooker Caramel-Apple Crisp

I’ve made chicken before, but this is the greatest. Because I had extra potatoes, gravy, and cornbread stuffing, I had to bake another chicken because my husband enjoyed this dish so much.

Ingredients

  1. 4 tart apples, peeled and sliced, or more to taste
  2. 2 tablespoons white sugar
  3. 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  4. 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  5. ⅓ cup caramel topping
  6. 2 tablespoons melted butter
  7. 1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  8. 1 cup oatmeal
  9. ¾ cup butter

Instructions

  1. Mix apples, white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon together in a slow cooker. Drizzle with caramel topping and melted butter.
  2. Mix cake mix and oatmeal together in a bowl. Cut in butter using 2 knives or a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Place on top of apple mixture in the slow cooker.
  3. Cook on High until cooked down and golden on top, 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

The taste of the apples in this is really good. I wasn’t really impressed with the topping. It’s not “crisp” but more chewy and doughy. It still tasted good overall though. I cooked mine for 2 1/2 hours, and one small section burned on the edge.
