Love adding rum, had not done that before. Thanks!

This was a good recipe. My first time making sangria. I (and others) thought it still needed more wine so we added another bottle of red wine – perfect – it was all gone and everyone wanted the recipe – just add another bottle of wine – and I had only used 2 c rum – everything else was just as indicated.

I’ve made a few different recipes for Sangria but none have really been too impressive, so I was really (pleasantly) surprised when I made this and it was so much better than others I’ve tried to make. Maybe it was the Shiraz instead of my usual Merlot or red table wine for Sangria’s, but the blend of flavors really was what a Sangria should be. I did have to substitute Apricot Brandy for the Peach, and I used mango in place of pineapple – otherwise stuck to every ingredient, every measurement and really, it’s a great drink on a hot day! Thank you Ingrid!

This was the worst sangria I have ever had in my life. I made it because I wanted to try a different recipe. Something told me I should have stuck with Bobby Flay’s red wine sangria which is the best I have ever made. This tasted ok at first but after 2 modest glasses with our meal and dessert…I started to feel really sick and uncomfortable. By the next hour, I was literally hung over a toilet, a wet washcloth nearby for my forehead and my wonderful meal and dessert was staring back at me in sickening horror from the “once white” toilet bowl. Oh my God. This has never happened to me before, ever. I am not a lightweight and I am not a heavy drinker at all either. I drink in moderation — maybe 2 -3 glasses a week at most. This was not a a hangover — the drink itself just sat horribly on my stomach and literally made me sick. Trust me, don’t even try this. It’s a lethal vomit-inducing concoction. Never again.

Wow! What a great recipe. I took the advice on decreasing the rum and it was perfect. The girls loved it. This will forever be my “go to” sangria recipe.

I made the sangria for two different occasions within a week of each other. It was a hit at both parties. It was so easy to make!! The only thing I did different was i made a simple syrup too pour over the fruit, i used a pear as well! I used a cheaper orange liquor, which worked the same! The club soda i would recommend pouring as people pour there glasses. other wise, the soda gets flat (sprite work great too) !!!!! Salute

I took this to a potluck barbecue and it was the hit of the evening. People were eating the fruit out of the pitcher after all the drink was gone. They all wanted the recipe! 🙂

BTW – the red wine I used was a Rioja. 🙂

Can somebody tell me what kind of red wine should I use for this sangria?
Thanks

This is very good–& wow strong. It’s not sweet just right, with a bite.
You need that club soda as a topper, it makes it perfect.

Instead of serving in a piture , cut a watermellon in half, scoop out the mellon throw in some of the mellon and fill with sangria
