Ingredients
- 1/4 cup kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons black peppercorns, ground
- 2 tablespoons ground sumac
- 2 tablespoons dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sherry vinegar
Instructions
- Add the salt, ground peppercorns, sumac, oregano, lemon juice, olive oil, brown sugar and vinegar to a mixing bowl and mix to combine.
- Use on your favorite protein and cook as desired. The rub will last up to 4 days if stored in the fridge.

Agree Katie….1/4 cup table salt is WAY to much but I just watched the episode again and it’s not a typo on here but GZ was using a coarser salt, I am guessing it was kosher sea salt which would make a big difference….when they cook on the shows I believe they do not use typical table salt all the time because you see them using an awful lot of salt on some things….they really need to specify what salt they are using.
Great, but 1/4 CUP OF SALT?! Made it last night over greens and was so salty, (Even on very rare steak). Re-doing tonight with 1/4 TEASPOON SALT. Love the Sumac! have never used it. Such a great flavor!
