Sesame-Glazed Snap Peas with Pearl Onions

Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoon sesame oil
  2. 2 cups snap peas (fresh or frozen)
  3. 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  4. 1 bag frozen pearl onions
  5. 1 tablespoon water
  6. 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
  7. Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add snap peas, soy sauce, pearl onions and 1 tablespoon of water and cook 3 to 5 minutes, until vegetables are tender and golden and water evaporates. Stir in sesame seeds and cook 1 minute, until seeds are golden. Remove from heat and stir in salt and black pepper.

Fast & easy & tasty. Did not have sesame seeds, so did not add. Had some leftover water chestnuts, so added them to the recipe. My family enjoyed this side dish, even though at least 1 family member claims to not like onions,

this was a wonderful side — fresh and healthful. I also like that you can have a number of ingredients on hand either in the fridge or pantry, just add the fresh snap peas (or whatever vegetable you have on hand).
