Ingredients

  1. Nonstick cooking spray
  2. 1/2 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  3. 2 tablespoons honey
  4. 1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses
  5. 1 teaspoon finely grated fresh ginger
  6. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  7. 1 teaspoon liquid smoke seasoning
  8. 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  9. 6 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, cut into thin strips
  10. 1/4 cup sesame seeds, lightly toasted
  11. 8 ounces cellophane noodles, soaked in hot water until tender
  12. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
  13. 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  14. 4 cups snap peas, steamed

Instructions

  1. Coat a stove-top grill pan or griddle with cooking spray and set over medium-high heat to preheat.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together soy sauce, honey, molasses, ginger, garlic, liquid smoke seasoning, and black pepper. Add chicken strips and turn to coat. Place chicken on hot grill and cook 5 to 7 minutes, until cooked through, turning once during cooking. Remove chicken from grill pan and roll in toasted sesame seeds.
  3. Drain cellophane noodles and toss with cilantro and sesame oil. Serve chicken with noodles and snap peas.
  4. Serve 4 of the chicken breast halves (about 6 strips per serving) with this meal, with all of the noodles and snap peas, and reserve extra chicken for another meal.

Love this recipe. I will use this teriyaki sauce again. I change the marinade time to over night, marinated It over night because me and my Family really like the flavor of teriyaki. I grilled this on the barbeque, it seems to not make the chicken look like a sponge afterwords.Toss it with some grilled bell peppers, pineapples and onions with some of the pre cook marinade. For my self i took some of the marinade and reduce it down with some red chili flakes and sarachie sauce, for my self of course and toss that with everything else, love it.

My husband and I really loved the flavors. My only complaint is about the smell. I thought it had a funny odor to it, possibly due to the molasses; my husband, on the other hand, thought it smelled great.

I didn’t have liquid smoke or reduced sodium soy sauce, but made with regular soy sauce. I tasted the marinade before the chicken went in, and it was not sweet enough for my liking. I added a tablespoon of brown sugar. Then, after the chicken cooked, I put the extra marinade in the empty skillet, added 1/2 chicken broth, 2 T. white sugar, a mix of corn starch and water to make a thicker sauce and finished with 1 tsp. lime juice. I don’t think it would have been that great without the sauce, the chicken by itself was ok. But the sauce made it really yummy! (I also tossed sauteed snap peas and broccoli in the sauce too, and did jasmine rice instead of noodles

Congratulations. After years and years of finding recipes on this site (some great, some mediocre) this was the one that finally pushed me to leave a comment. WIthout the use of expletives, my first thought is, What in the World? The flavors in this dish clashed like I’ve never tasted before. It sounded interesting, so we tried it. Wow. Terribly dissapointing to say the least. The liquid smoke is a huge mistake. The sesame oil and cilantro, well, perhaps that’s a taste that’s acquired over time, but it stuck in my mouth for hours. The ingredients in this recipe area mess, and absolute overkill. A simple bottle of terriyaki marinade would have been much easier, and tastier. One word? : Yuck.
