These burgers rely on jerk seasoning, typically made with allspice, cinnamon, cloves, sugar, cumin, thyme and lots of hot chili peppers, for their hot and spicy flavor.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon jerk seasoning, plus more for sprinkling
- 1 small green apple, peeled and grated
- 1/2 cup finely chopped scallions
- 1/4 cup panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise, plus more for brushing
- 1/4 cup mango chutney, roughly chopped
- 3 cups shredded green cabbage
- 1 carrot, shredded
- Canola oil, for the grill
- 4 hamburger buns or challah rolls, split
Instructions
- Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium high. Mix the turkey, jerk seasoning, apple, 1/4 cup scallions and the panko in a bowl; season with salt and pepper. Form into four 1-inch-thick patties and make a small indentation in the middle of each with your thumb to prevent it from puffing up on the grill. Refrigerate.
- Whisk the mayonnaise and chutney in a large bowl. Add the cabbage, carrot and the remaining 1/4 cup scallions, season with salt and pepper and toss to coat.
- Brush the grill with canola oil. Grill the turkey patties until browned and cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes per side.
- Brush the cut sides of the buns with mayonnaise and sprinkle with jerk seasoning; toast on the grill, about 30 seconds. Serve the burgers and slaw on the buns.

So delicious!!
So delish. Always a hit. Add a slice of red onion.
Just spicy enough to compliment the sweetness of turkey. I served with homemade pickles and a yogurt dill sauce from Ellie Krieger. Popped a whole wheat roll on the scene and it was a festive delicious night!
A real favorite in our home. We fix these more than beef burgers. Delicious. I do add more of the jerk and also about 8 ounces of spicy Italian chicken sausage.
Absolutely fantastic! We added chopped mangoes to the coleslaw, and that put it over the top.
A-MAZE-ING! These were so easy to make and absolutely delicious. It may be the best recipe I found on food network. Even my beef loving husband can’t stop talking about how good this dish is. Thanks for posting, it is one of my new favorites.
it amazes me that most dont follow the recipes ….these are excellent AS IS ..great flavors
This is one of my family’s favorite turkey burger recipes. Even thse with not-so-adventurous palates ask me to make these when I come to visit! We rarely have the dry jerk seasoning around and usually substitute jamaican jerk paste or even jerk marinade. It all still turns out well no matter what. Only made the slaw recipe the first time around and never repeated it. Not memorable like the burgers.
Very good. Ended up making my own jerk seasoning. The coleslaw is a must for this burger.
OMG! These are the best turkey burgers I have ever had, restaurant quality. The apple keeps the meat nice and moist and the slaw provides the perfect crunch and extra flavor. I used whole wheat buns that I toasted up nice before adding the slaw and the crunch from the bread and slaw with the juicy burger truly was amazing. A definite keeper!
