You MUST remove the eyes on the the potatoes, and wash them. She did neither. VERY young, or old , can get sick.
I followed this stew recipe exactly as she makes it on the show and it came out perfect. Well, almost perfect. I did add some salt and pepper at the end but as every cook knows, you often have to “season to taste”.
The only major difference I noticed between the show and the recipe is that she did not specify “low sodium” broth on the show so I used regular broth.
I would definitely make this again without changing a thing.
I did not make the beer biscuits so I can not comment on that part of the recipe.
Made in a 4qt crockpot so added less vegetables but same amount of beef. Done in 4.5 hours. Adjusted seasonings to our taste once done. Meat was fork tender, veggies perfect. It was a hit with my family, but we ate it served over brown rice. No left overs! Will make again.
This was horrible. The meat was tough and the vegetables had no taste. I followed the recipe exactly and watched the video- waste of money. Do NOT recommend.
This will be the second time making this stew, It’s quick an easy, the flavor is worth the wait!!!!
Enjoy!!
Enjoy!!
love this recipe had it recorded then my dvr broke when I got my new one it was gone so had to look it up.. My family leaves the pot shaking. I always make my hubby’s lunch out of dinner leftovers, when I make this no leftovers at all..Thanks Sandra
This combination is fantastic and super easy to make. I love how all you have to do is throw everything in the crock pot and it does all the work and I get all the credit. The stew was perfectly thick and hearty (as any good cook, I tasted before serving and added salt and pepper to taste also added a little chopped fresh flat leaf parsley and I made honey butter to go with the fantastic biscuits. We all loved the added sweetness. Love her baking mix as it is so versatile. Overall both are delicious!
I finally made this stew with a few changes.
I salted, peppered, and floured the meat. Browned in a 5 qt Dutch Oven, then added the celery, carrots potatoes, onions and garlic and browned them together with the meat a few minutes. I then added –One pkg Lipton Onion Soup Mix –One 8oz can sliced mushrooms — 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves — the rest of the ingredients, covered and simmered on top of the stove for –4 hours (adding a little water if necessary when ever needed. Served stew over — extra wide noodles. Delish!!

Extremely easy to make. I have made this Beef Stew recipe about 5 times. It is so delicious, it is the only recipe I will ever use when making Beef Stew.
Delicious combo. I add a touch of cheddar cheese to the biscuits. A perfect cold evening meal!
