Reviews
I made them and they are wonderful but I also have a question, does anyone know how long the All-Purpose Baking Mix will keep if you made it up but di not use it all at once?
Made these today and all I can say is MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm!!!!! Let me tell you it makes way more than 4,using an ice cream scoop. Which is just fine with me because they are delicious. My kids wanted to eat all of them. After reading some of the reviews I added a 1/4 cup more flour as I didn’t want to use up all of my mix and raised the oven temp to 425. They cooked up beautifully, light and fluffy. I served these with honey butter. Perfection!!! ANOTHER WINNER!
DON’T USE CHEAP BEER!!!
The batter was very thin and there was no way it could be mounded. I added more mix to make it thicker. They took about 15 minutes to bake, not 8 to 10. But the biscuits were delicious and were the lightest fluffiest biscuits I have ever eaten. Will make them again but will make smaller biscuits.
So easy and so good! I paired these up with Alton Brown’s macaroni and cheese, it is like Heaven on a plate!
We love it! Paired with White Bean Chili. We used bisquick, 1 teaspoon of sugar, coors lights, and added about 1 cup of shredded cheddar. It took 15 mins to cook until lightly browned.
followed recipe exactly – these were awful – also took longer to bake and made more than the 4 stated…will pitch this one
The wife found it to be easy, she is learning to cook. She cut back on some of the salt and pepper. Season to individual taste. Biscuits she used half the sugar. More of the flavor came through. Still she is learning.
I made the baking mix with cold butter instead of shortening. I just made 1/3 of the recipe for the baking mix and then used the whole amount to make the beer biscuits. I halved the sugar because I was using a blackberry beer. The biscuits turned out great, though they took 14 minutes to bake. Definitely a good recipe if you are looking for something quick and easy.
A little disappointing. I followed the recipe off the show as I our Internet connection was down. On the show it stated to use 2 cups of baking mix. As a result the mixture was very runny. I did add more mix to the mixture but was never happy with the consistency of the batter.
