Ingredients

  1. 5 apples (recommended: Cortland or McIntosh) 1 cinnamon stick
  2. 1/2 cup water
  3. 8 to 10 strawberries, stemmed and chopped
  4. 1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Peel and core apples then cut into small chunks. In a large saucepan, bring apples, cinnamon stick, and water to a boil and simmer until apples are tender when poked with a fork, about 15 minutes. Add strawberries and cook 5 minutes more. Have been thinking about making some of this for a while, so when I came across this recipe, I was excited.  Very clear &easy to follow directions, and loved the finished product.  The only minor change I made was to eliminate the cinnamon.
