Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 package lady fingers sponge cakes
  2. 1/2 cup strong black coffee or espresso
  3. 2 ounces (shots) coffee flavor liqueur
  4. 2 cups mascarpone cheese, available in specialty cheese case of supermarket
  5. 1/2 cup powdered confectioners’ sugar
  6. 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  7. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Open the ladyfingers and separate them. Paint the ladyfingers with coffee combined with the coffee liqueur using a pastry brush. Line 4 martini glasses with a single layer of ladyfingers, letting the cakes overlap a bit at the stem. Press the cakes down a bit to fit the lines of the glass. Beat cheese and sugar together 2 or 3 minutes. Spoon sweetened mascarpone into glasses. Top glasses off with a cap of the ladyfingers. Use any remaining mascarpone to dot the ladyfinger tops and sprinkle each glass with cocoa powder combined with a touch of cinnamon.

For the simplicity I give it 5. Holds true to the amount of time too.

It’s really good but I made it again and the next time I also made a cup of sweetened whipped cream and folded it in.  It stretched the filling and made it a little lighter.

I’m not quite a cook nor I like to cook much. Today I made this recipe and it was so easy and tasty that, this will be my dessert of choice when entretaining. I prepared the dessert before dinner as suggested and kept it chilling, and it was definetely a good idea as the flavors had a chance to be absorbed by the lady fingers. I used coffee this time but I think I will try using expresso next time as I like a more strong coffee flavor. Overall, this is a great dessert and if you use the martini glass or a samll bowl it looks like a 5 star restaurant dessert. Have fun cooking!

My husband was expecting real Tiramisu. He was so let down, he wouldn’t even eat it. I wasn’t expecting real Tiramisu because it was too easy to make. I had a more realistic expectation, and I was disappointed. The texture was not smooth and light. I was careful mixing because on the video said it would turn into butter. Even with mixing it less than the recipe called for, it was the texture of firm butter. The only thing I can think of that may have ruined the texture was using a stand mixer, not a hand mixter like Rachel. Regardless, the taste was not good either.

So we had a family Italian dinner night and I really wanted to make Tiramisu for dessert. But I had just made homemade ravioli, marinara sauce and Italian bread, and I was exhausted and it was almost 8:00PM. Lucky for me, I found this recipe! It was so delicious and creamy and the just the right ending to a perfect meal! Thank you!

I recommend letting this recipe sit all day or overnight in the fridge to really enhance the flavor. I made this for our neighbors & everyone loved it.

I thought this dessert would be really simple and nice. I made it a day ahead like some people recommended. It tasted a little better the next day. Overall it was pretty simple and easy but I thought that it was really expensive (not her fault I know, just warning you in case you’re working with a college budget like me) but it was also very sweet. . Esp after being in the fridge the cheese got very thick and frosting-like. If I make it again I’ll put 1/2 or less the powdered suger and maybe mix some coffee into the cheese to change the consistency.

Something is missing…I couldn’t even eat this dessert.
