Ingredients
- Deselect All
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup (1 stick butter), melted
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- One 9-inch deep dish pie shell, unbaked, or homemade pastry
- 1 cup pecan halves
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the brown sugar, granulated sugar and eggs until creamy. Add the chopped pecans, melted butter, milk, flour and vanilla extract and stir to combine. Pour the mixture into the pie shell. Arrange the pecan halves on top of the pie in a circular pattern.
- Bake the pie for 55 minutes. Check for doneness by shaking the pan slightly. The pie should be firm with only a slight jiggle in the center. It will set more as it cools. Serve topped with vanilla ice cream or with a dollop of whipped cream.

Reviews
Far too sweet which surprised me because it doesn’t use corn syrup.
Too sweet.
This is my 2nd year making this pie! Absolutely amazing!
Not your traditional pecan pie
This pecan pie is fabulous! I made it for Thanksgiving last year (2021). My daughter, who doesn’t like pecan pie because she says it’s too sweet, loved this pie. It doesn’t have corn syrup, which is probably why it’s not as sweet as other pecan pies. It’s now my go to recipe for pecan pie and I’m making it again this year for thanksgiving.
This recipe reminds me more of a Pecan Praline Pie but it’s incredibly delicious and a favorite in our house!
This was so easy and my husband just loves it
I made this pecan pie and it’s a very good recipe
Omg this is so delicious, I am not a baker but this is so easy! My husband loves it and so do I. Thank you Trish.
I’m confused, I added corn syrup to mine. I didn’t see it on this recipe but I did love all the other ingredients to it. It came out great, my husband loves it and he’s from the South. So that means a lot to me.
