Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  2. 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  3. 2 large eggs
  4. 1 cup sugar
  5. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  6. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  8. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  9. Nonstick cooking spray
  10. 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Put the butter and chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds to melt the chocolate. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar.
  3. In a large bowl sift the flour with the baking powder and salt. Add the egg and chocolate mixtures along with the vanilla and stir well to combine.
  4. Spray an 8 by 8 by 2-inch or 8-inch round microwave-safe glass pan with cooking spray. Pour the batter into the pan, spread it out evenly, and scatter the chocolate chips on top. Cook on high for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and let rest for 3 minutes before cutting and eating.
