Ingredients
- 1 (18-ounce) jar creamy peanut butter
- 2 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
Instructions
- Using an electric mixer or a whisk, beat the peanut butter and confectioners’ sugar together until smooth and stiff. Beat in the vanilla extract. Shape the peanut butter mixture into 20 (1-inch) balls and place on a waxed paper-lined sheet tray. Place the tray in the freezer for 1 hour.
- Add chopped chocolate to a small bowl set over gently simmering water. Stir to melt. Remove chocolate from heat. With 2 forks, carefully dip the chilled peanut butter balls 1/2 way into the chocolate, let excess drip off, and lay onto the waxed paper-lined sheet tray.
- With a fork, swirl some decorative chocolate across the top of each bite. Place in the refrigerator for the chocolate to set and the peanut butter to solidify, about 30 minutes.

Awesome!
Simple and delicious
These remind me of Pete’s Famous Schweddy Balls. They just can’t be beat! These balls are salty-sweet, mouth-watering, and impossible to resist.
These look absolutely addictive! Unfortunately, I’ll have to make them with a lot less sugar, but we’re getting used to that here, and we can eat freshly ground peanut butter straight from the jar, so I know we’ll love them. I shared this as soon as I ran across it today, on a Facebook page I manage called Cooking with Whole Grains & Real, Whole Foods. Hope it brings you a few hits. : )
I am not surprised that nutritional information is not provided for this recipe. I copied it as presented into my cookbook app and it showed that ONE cookie contains 15% of the total daily calories for a proper diet, most of which provide no nutritional benefits.
i really want to make these
where are all the NO SUGAR ADDED RECIPES i need a great Christmas treat too
I can’t wait to make these again. They are amazing, And so good. So easy! My co workers loved them. I had NO problems with them. Came out perfect!
I think it was a really good recipe. I liked the fact that it was healthier than most treats because you get protein. However, I wish it was a little less sweet. Maybe less chocolate?
Kids liked it, I hated it. It’s a Sugar Ball w peanut butter flavor. Great idea but too sweet.
