This is oaky and is good on ice cream and apples
This is THE best caramel sauce ever! And so easy to make. I use half the amount of brown sugar and heavy whipping cream instead of half and half.
This caramel sauce is delicious!! I have made it several times now. The only thing I do is double the recipe, use heavy whipping cream, and only a teaspoon of vanilla. My family loves it!!
After numerous attempts at making caramel sauce with white sugar, following the directions to the letter and having zero success, I tried this recipe. For the purists-ok maybe it’s not “legit” caramel sauce because it’s made with brown sugar, but it came out great. It was smooth, flavorful and just the right consistency. I’ll take that over failed attempts with the other method. I had whipping cream, so I used that along with some half and half.
The best ever and easy if you follow the recipe carefully.
Very easy & I used milk & heavy cream
No! It’s liquid!
Don’t expect an “authentic” caramel sauce. However, for something that can be made in five minutes or so – it’s still tasty and worthy of eating with a spoon. I used a braiser and combined all of the ingredients and heated over medium until they were bubbling, always stirring, and quickly turned off the heat. It did not feel like 5-7 minutes. Cook it for too long or on too high of a heat and it will separate.
This is the first recipe of this type I have seen fail. Just a bowl full of butter, sugar and milk solids. Not good.
Delicious!
