Can’t Talk…Eating!!! Very more-ish…it’s hard to stop with just one. Cooking tip: I also used just 5 cups of rice cereal and it worked perfectly!!
Not bad at all.
Very easy to make. Omitting the dried fruit & using regular crispy rice cereal still works. Still tastes great & the kids love it.
I love that this recipe is so simple. I used 5 cups of cereal since so many others recommended reducing the amount. It did help them hold together. I used regular Rice Krispies since my grocery store didn’t have the brown rice cereal. Next time I’m at Whole Foods I plan to pick some up. Personally, I found these to be a little too sweet, so next time, i think I might omit the dried fruit and add salted peanuts instead.
Thank you for sharing this recipe! These are so much tastier than Kellogg’s traditional Rice Krispies. I love that they’re so healthy too. I made a few modifications such as using Kashi 7 Whole Grains cereal..YUM!. For additional tips & photos for this recipe please check out my cooking blog RedLab27.
I prefer these rice crispy treats over the normal recipe and its a GREAT addition that it is also HEALTHIER for you. This recipe is great because you can personalize it. I love blueberries so I use dried blueberries instead of dried cherries.
I made this recipe for a friend who has a gluten allergy and I cannot stop tasting it! I only used 5 cups of cereal and I pressed the mixture with another pan… some crumbling, but they stayed in squares. I also used natural creamy peanut butter and added in crushed honey roasted peanuts, and substituted sun ripened cranberries for the cherries. So delicious!
I like this because it taste good and it’s much better for you than the regular crispy bars. My grandson loved it.
An easy treat that got 2 thumbs up from my grandchildren!
Well when the bosses wife yells at you and asks you to make something healthy so that everyone in the office doesn’t end up weighing 300 pounds – you do it! The next morning I saw Ellie’s show and she made these treats and I gave it a shot. Everyone loved them and they felt better after eating them. I do like the idea of compressing treats while they cool – may help the crumbles. I also found if you keep them in the fridge they stay together much better. Great recipe Ellie, thanks.
