Easy, looks good, and tasty. I wanted more instructions, but I guess this recipe is pretty forgiving. Except the first time I slightly burned the bread under a broiler. What I did the 2nd time, per 3/4″ slice –
1 tsp cold butter, melted on by 20 secs in a microwave
a pinch (1/8 tsp each ?) salt and sugar
2-3 mins in a toaster oven til golden
1 T peach preserves
1 tsp cookie crumbs (one small cookie)
More butter might be better. This seems ideal for about 8 not-very-hungry people, about 2 slices each, to use up the whole baguette before it dries out. Thanks !
