Ingredients
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 16 large button mushrooms, stems removed and finely chopped
- 2 cups fresh bread crumbs
- 1/4 finely chopped fresh parsley
- Dash of hot pepper sauce
- 4 ounces Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
Instructions
- Use side burners or preheat grill. Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium high heat. Add onions and garlic and cook until soft. Add mushroom stems and cook until golden brown. Remove from heat and add bread crumbs, parsley, hot pepper sauce and cheese. Mix until well combined (if mixture looks too dry, add more olive oil.) Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Fill the mushroom caps with the mixture and brush the entire mushroom with more olive oil. Grill over medium heat until tender.

I have served these mushrooms many times and have been told they were the best stuffed mushrooms ever! If you don’t like gorgonzola cheese, don’t make these! The best!!!!!
I took the advice from other reviews and used less bread crumbs and added cream cheese and these were awesome! I will be making these again for sure, Thanks Bobby!

The texture, the flavor…..I’m sorry to say the worst stuffed mushroom ever. Gorgonzola was over-powering…..very disappointed.
I made this as a side dish for Mother’s Day along with some shrimp linguine. They both complimented each other very well! The mushrooms were the biggest hit though. My boyfriend and his dad DO NOT like mushrooms, but they LOVED this! I actually added cream cheese into the mixture to add some creaminess. I highly recommend trying that!
