Why would I be looking for a recipe for ‘ranch dressing’ that uses ‘bottled ranch dressing’?? A recipe should give you the ingredients to Make it!
Perhaps bottled ranch dressing is called for in this recipe because the majority of Americans actually USE bottled dressing since it is a time saver, and since they don’t tend to be food snobs.
However, if it offends your sensibilities and disrupts your delicate palate to use anything other than homemade ranch dressing made with fresh buttermilk from your own cow, herbs you grew in your herb garden, and fleur de sel that you mined yourself from the Ile de Re, then by all means, please feel free to substitute that for the Hidden Valley Ranch that the rest of America will be using.
The carrot fingers are a great idea for a Halloween party.
Another “Finger Food” idea is to use mozzarella sticks and carved the knuckle lines witha paring tool and top the finger with a piece of green pepper or black olive (“glued” on with cream cheese) for the nail. I will definetly be dipping one of the cheese in a red food coloring to make it more scary looking. I wonder if beet juice would give the same effect?
I have also made the “Deviled Egg Eyes”, but tinted the yolk part of the egg green and then top it with a piece of black oilve for the pupil. In the white part of the egg take a toothpick dipped in red food coloring and draw the blood shot lines. Super cool and creepy looking. I will be using these ideas for my daughter’s 1st grade’s classroom party this year.

Happy Halloween!!!!
I made some deviled eggs that looked like eyeballs and used the carrot fingers as a garnish. I dipped a few of the carrot fingers in red food coloring so they looked severed. Cool garnish.

Don’t give this a bad rating because of bottled ranch. If it bothers you then just make your own ranch. I like this idea of making “fingers” with carrots and almonds, neat idea!
why would I use bottled?
Fun snack for the kids to help with..and healthy too!
