Whole Lime Margarita

  3.9 – 9 reviews  • Margarita Recipes

The entire lime, including the rinds, is used to make these lime margaritas. Choose limes with thin skins and lots of juice for vibrant, flavorful margaritas that don’t taste like a mix from a bottle. The lime rind offers a splash of color and an acidic flavor that isn’t excessively sweet. You won’t ever prepare a margarita the same way once more.

It was very bitter – all I tasted was the pith. It was a beautiful color but terrible flavor.

My friends and I were shocked at how delicious this was. Will definitely make it again. We made no changes to the recipe. Thin-skinned limes are the key.

This is the best ever!!!! No changes needed, tastes much better than any mix . I used Grand Marnier for the orange liqueur.

This is FANTASTIC! I did add an extra 1/2 lime cuz the ones I had seems small and did 4 oz of Grand Marnier vice the guidance provided and also added 4 oz of beer cuz the best Marg I ever had added beer and I will forever do it. This margarita is perfection and I’ll never buy mix again!!

I think it needs more sugar, tequila, and orange liquor.

I had such high hopes for this but it was way to bitter. I followed the recipe exactly and determined it could not be improved as long as the lime rind was part of it.
