This bread machine recipe is for one. The bread has a crisp exterior and a tender, moist interior.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Additional Time: 1 hr
Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins
Servings: 18

Ingredients

  1. 6 eggs
  2. 1 cup white sugar
  3. ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  4. ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg, divided
  5. 2 cups whipping cream
  6. 2 cups milk
  7. ¾ cup brandy, chilled
  8. ⅓ cup spiced rum (such as Captain Morgan’s®)

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs with an electric mixer on medium speed until very frothy, 2 to 3 minutes.
  2. Gradually beat in sugar, vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Stir in cream, milk, brandy, and rum.
  3. Cover and chill before serving. Sprinkle individual servings with remaining nutmeg.
  4. It’s a good idea to put all the liquids (including the alcohol) in the fridge the day before to make sure everything is nice and cold.
  5. This recipe contains raw egg. We recommend that pregnant women, young children, the elderly, and the infirm do not consume raw egg. Learn more about egg safety from our article,

Very simple approach with YUMMY outcome! Added Spiced Rum at the end, leaving non alcohol version for my guests.

Simple and good. Grated some cinnamon and used fresh vanilla beans instead of extract. Definitely using beans + extract next time.

This is great eggnog. If you are in a pinch, you can just use half and half instead of milk and cream but the results are not exactly the same. Make sure the beat the eggs and cream/milk/egg mixture a good amount to give it more volume and make is creamier.
