Sparkling Chocolate Martini

  4.8 – 4 reviews  • Martini Recipes

For those who enjoy their martinis without milk or chocolate sauce, crisp, clear, and pure! For optimal results, use a premium vodka.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 10 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 4 martinis

Ingredients

  1. 3 (1.5 fluid ounce) jiggers creme de cacao
  2. 2 (1.5 fluid ounce) jiggers vodka
  3. 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vanilla-flavored vodka
  4. 1 cup crushed ice, divided
  5. ¼ cup granulated sugar, or as needed
  6. 1 wedge orange

Instructions

  1. Combine creme de cacao, vodka, and vanilla-flavored vodka in a cocktail shaker. Secure lid on shaker and shake vigorously.
  2. Spread sugar onto a flat plate wider than your martini glasses. Run the orange wedge along the lip of each martini glass to assure it’s moistened all the way around; dip martini glasses in sugar to coat.
  3. Divide remaining ice between the martini glasses. Strain the cocktail into the glasses.
  4. Creme de cacao comes in clear or dark. The first looks more ‘sparkly,’ and the second looks more ‘chocolate-y.’ They taste the same, so it just depends on your visual preferences!
  5. Garnish finished martinis with small candy canes or a chocolate candy.
  6. The nutrition data for this recipe includes the full amount of the sugar and the orange used to rim the glasses. The actual amount of the sugar consumed will vary.

I hate to rate my own recipe, but I couldn’t figure out another way to add a comment! After experimenting some more, I’ve decided I prefer using only plain vodka, and adding a drop (1/4 tsp. for this recipe) of pure vanilla extract. Yum!

Wonderful cocktail! I didn’t have an orange wedge so I rimmed the glass with orange juice. Will be making this again, thanks mayita!
