This recipe, like most of mine, is an amalgam of a few others because I couldn’t find one that satisfied all of my requirements. Every time I’ve served it, people have raved about it.

Ingredients
- ¾ cup rum
- ⅓ cup white sugar
- 1 green apple, cored and sliced
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 lime, sliced
- 1 (750 milliliter) bottle red wine
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
Instructions
- Stir rum and sugar together in a large pitcher to dissolve the sugar; add apple slices, orange slices, lemon slices, and lime slices.
- Crush fruit slightly against the bottom of the pitcher to squeeze some juice into the rum mixture. Pour wine and orange juice into the pitcher; stir. Add lemon-lime soda and stir just before serving.
- The flavors of this can be intensified by letting the fruit soak at the end of step one for 1 to 2 hours, and again before adding the soda for 8 hours to overnight.
- The nutrition data for this recipe includes the full amount of the fruit. The actual amount of the fruit consumed will vary.

This was a big hit. Even among those who don’t usually cafe about Sangria!
This sangria is so delicious! I made a few modifications that gave It a tropical flair since I live In South Florida. Instead of apples I added chopped strawberries. Instead of plain orange juice, I added pineapple orange juice!
Followed as written! It was great!
This went over really well with my book club – not a drop left. The only thing I did differently was to limit the rum to 1 cup. Otherwise, as written and muy delicioso!
Delicious!! I made a batch to share with my Bunco group, and it was a big hit! I added some cranberries to give it a seasonal edge, and I plan to make it again for Thanksgiving.
