‘Pork and beans’ recipe from Mexico. If desired, add lime, green onion, salsa, cheese, sour cream, or even pig rinds on the top.

Ingredients

  1. 4 ½ cups red wine
  2. ¾ cup ginger ale
  3. ½ cup orange juice
  4. 2 fluid ounces brandy
  5. 1 fluid ounce triple sec (orange-flavored liqueur)
  6. 1 teaspoon white sugar
  7. 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  8. 2 cups crushed ice
  9. ½ Granny Smith apple, diced

Instructions

  1. Stir red wine, ginger ale, orange juice, brandy, triple sec, sugar, cinnamon, and apple together in a large pitcher.
  2. Divide crushed ice evenly into six large wine glasses.
  3. Pour red wine mixture into each wine glass, making sure that each serving has a few pieces of apple.

I made this just as listed and it was great! I didn’t use cheap red wine, scrimped on the brandy. Made a great group drink for a birthday party! Have made several batches since.
