Mexican Mocha

The dish was excellent in this vegetarian and onion-free variation. It even won over my wife, who despises cauliflower. The flavors were enhanced when served with freshly cracked pepper.

Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  2. 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  4. ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  5. 1 cup hot coffee
  6. ¼ cup half-and-half creamer
  7. whipped cream for topping (optional)
  8. cinnamon for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine powdered sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and chili powder in the bottom of a mug.
  2. Pour hot coffee on top and stir until dissolved. Pour in half-and-half creamer and stir.
  3. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.
  4. Use flavored creamer to change it up depending on the season.
