Maple Leaf Cocktail

This “all things Canadian” drink I created combines some of my favorite flavors from my native country and may just have you singing “O Canada”! If desired, add more frozen berries as a garnish.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Total Time: 5 mins
Servings: 1
Yield: 1 cocktail

Ingredients

  1. ¼ cup frozen blueberries
  2. ½ fluid ounce maple syrup
  3. 2 lime wedges
  4. 2 cups ice, or as needed
  5. 2 fluid ounces Canadian whiskey (such as Crown Royal®)
  6. 3 fluid ounces club soda

Instructions

  1. Combine blueberries, maple syrup, and juice of 1 lime wedge in a cocktail shaker. Use a muddler to crush the fruit. Fill shaker with ice cubes and whiskey. Cover and shake until chilled, 15 to 20 seconds.
  2. Fill a rocks glass with ice and strain cocktail over the ice. Top with club soda. Garnish with remaining lime wedge.

I’ve been meaning to review this for some time now. I’ve made this recipe at least a dozen times since it was first published. Not only is it the best cocktail on this site, it is my favorite cocktail period. The combo of Crown, maple syrup, blueberries, and lime is genius. I’ve taken several pictures but none of them have done this recipe the justice it deserves. If you are looking for the perfect cocktail to serve that special person, this is it!
