Delicious. I added an extra 1/3 cup of the Cider after reading the reviews and it was perfect. I had a cookie and cocktail pairing party and paired this cocktail with apple pie cheesecake cookies. I won best pairing and everyone loved the Cider

Absolutely delicious. The hit of our football tailgate!

Great cider! Made it for a Halloween party and boiled the tea and brown sugar together then placed it all in a crockpot and went through 4 batches of the drink. We left the rum on the side so everyone could drink it however the preferred. By the end of night I had given out the recipe to several people

Delish! Very hot at first then give it a minute in your glass. It stays warm for a bit. When cooled also try it with ice and a splash more rum!

Made this for Halloween and it was a huge hit with the neighbors. I read in the reviews that you could leave it in the crockpot to keep it warm but we found it wasn’t warm enough so we moved it back to the stove on low and left it out for everyone to self-serve. Not sure if my crockpot just wasn’t hot enough but that was my experience. We followed the first batch exactly to the recipe but on the second batch we halved the amount of brown sugar and completely skipped the butter. Was just as good and with a little less sugar. Will plan to make again for Thanksgiving with family!

This was a huge hit at my sister’s Halloween Party! Would definitely make it again. I skipped the butter.

No changes were made for this recipe. We made it for a winter hike through downtown Frankfort, KY. It was simple to make and we will definitely be enjoying this cider many more times!!!!

This is a solid recipe, however I think it has a little too much rum in it. I love a strong drink as much as the next girl, but the rum overpowers the cider. If I make this again, I’d cut down the amount of both water and rum and increase the cider and I’d leave the teabags in until it was time to serve.

Use Crown Royal Apple!!! You can’t taste the alcohol at all, it just tastes like a candy apple!

Everyone was right, this recipe is delicious, but incredibly stout! I doubled the recipe and made some changes…. I would recommend reducing the alcohol amount by at least half a cup. I used 4 orange spice tea packets and 2 cinnamon tea packets. I used 3/4 cup sugar (I do NOT like when sugar overpowers the other flavors). When all the ingredients were mixed together, I transferred everything over to my 6 quart crock pot then added some apple slices and orange peels (and the 4 cinnamon sticks that the recipe called for). I ended up topping off the pot with some extra apple cider because of how stout it was, but the pot was almost already full so I didn’t have that much room to add enough to make a huge difference. The flavor is still really good. I set it to low for a couple hours, so it will be nice and warm for my Christmas par-tay tonight! I hope everyone likes rum! Lol! ETA: It tastes so delicious after the flavors had some time to stew together!!!! And the rum taste isn’t as over powering.

This is awesome! I’ve made it with light spiced rum as listed, but I found that I like the recipe even better using dark spiced rum. Dark rum gives it a bit of a fuller bodied flavor, imo.

Meh, probably won’t make again and if I do, it will be with modifications.Too heavy of other flavors for my liking. I was really wanting a delicious cider. All I could taste was the orange and the cinnamon. My hubby didn’t love it, but thought it was ok.

I used spiced rum because that’s what I had but it was still good… I loved the orange spiced tea! Next time I think I’ll add alcohol to individual cups so the kids can enjoy it as well.

As hot cider goes, this is one of the best for me. I enjoy the mix with the tea and rum. Not too spicy, not too sweet. I used Myers rum and only about 3/4 of what was called for in the recipe. Tasted wonderful!

Phenomenal. Made it with orange rum because that was all in had… Had to make a second batch because the first was SO GOOD!!
Dana Moses
This drink is nothing to rave about. My orange spice tea was several years old, which could have dulled the flavor a bit.
Betty Villarreal
I didn’t taste any of the rum, nor did it pack a punch, and it’s too sickening sweet

I love this recipe and make it as soon as it gets chilly outdoors. I make it ” family friendly” without the rum and add rum to those who want their s “fancy”. I also omit the butter. Sometimes I make it a day ahead as flavors get stronger the longer it sits in the refrigerator. YUM!
