Ingredients

  1. 3 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  2. 2 tablespoons white sugar
  3. 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  5. 1 ½ cups milk, divided
  6. 3 cups ice

Instructions

  1. Microwave chocolate in a small microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until melted, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until blended. Whisk in 1/2 cup milk until combined; set aside to cool, about 5 minutes.
  2. Pour chocolate mixture, remaining milk, and ice into a blender; blend on high speed until mixture is creamy, about 1 to 3 minutes.
  3. More milk and ice can be added if needed.

I really liked the taste.However it was a big mess in the blender and i would use crushed ice instead of cubed ice.

It was good. I would have put less powder. It turned out very grainy when you get to the bottom. Overall I will make it again with a few changes to the recipe. Less cocoa powder and a little more chocolate. Whipped Cream is not needed because it is already very sweet. Thank you for inputting this recipe! -FreeOfGluten

This was ok. I see it as an enjoyable after school or hot summertime treat. Kids would love it! It took on the flavor of the semi sweet chocolate chips I used, which was different from what I have made in the past. I only needed 1 cup of ice; otherwise, it would have been too weak tasting for me.
