Blueberry, Banana, and Peanut Butter Smoothie

  4.6 – 92 reviews  • Blueberry

An excellent way to start the day! Use milk in place of orange juice for a creamier flavor. If you like, you can use vanilla yogurt for plain yogurt.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 10 mins
Servings: 2
Yield: 2 cups

Ingredients

  1. 1 tablespoon flaxseed meal
  2. 1 banana
  3. 1 cup milk
  4. ½ cup frozen blueberries
  5. ½ cup plain yogurt
  6. 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  7. 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  1. Put flaxseed meal into a blender to grind and further break down.
  2. Place banana, milk, blueberries, yogurt, peanut butter, and honey into the blender. Cover and purée until smooth.
  3. Pour into glasses to serve.
  4. Additional blending at the beginning will also eliminate any bitterness from the flax seed.
  5. Wheat germ can be used instead of flaxseed meal.

I used flax seed and both my banana and blueberries were frozen. I added a bit more honey than called for, by mistake, but it was a good mistake because I liked it very much. Thanks for the recipe.

I substituted the yogurt with ice cream and I didn’t have the 1 tablespoon flaxseed meal or wheat germ. But overall great recipe and I will definitely use it again!! Also, I added strawberries in this recipe

So good! I’m surprised that the peanut butter doesn’t taste that bad in the smoothie at all, everything works well together! This smoothie has made me come back to eating smoothies again!

I was surprised when I saw that peanut butter was an ingredient, but the smoothie turned out really good. You could still taste the peanut butter, which enhanced the overall taste

I liked the thickness of the smoothie, however, I did not like the flavor of the blueberries and the peanut butter.

Awesome smoothie! I’m lactose intolerant so I substituted original/unflavoured soy milk for the milk and yogurt. I highly recommend using a frozen banana for a more chilly, thick smoothie!

I found this to be delicious. The flavours are like a peanut butter, banana + jelly sandwich…

Great fast easy. Instead of frozen berries took fresh and added a couple of ice cubes and some cinnamon . Kids loved it too
