Tasted too much like lemon….would recommend substituting lemon and sugar for water.
Just finished making this. I love it as is! Next time I’ll add a couple more lemons but that’s because I love the strong lemon taste. This has an amazing taste by all means and I don’t think it’s too sweet. I need to go get more lemons because when the kids get home from school this lemonade won’t last long at all!
Great recipe. I only used 1 and 1/4 cup of sugar just to reduce the amount (personal preference) and it tastes perfect! Knowing I didn’t use all the sugar makes me feel like it’s a tiny bit healthier.
Perfecto!
Brilliant. So easy and quick! Thank you for this.
I only did a half recipe, and it came out very good. I only used a half cup of Monk sugar and added a couple drops of lavender extract. I heated a half a cup of water (microwaved) and added the sugar to the hot water. I used an aero latte frother to mix the sugar in the water. I also added one lime to my 4 large lemons.
My husband loves it so much, he drank the whole pitcher almost by himself lol am now currently making more for him.
This was delicious! Anyone who said it was too sweet clearly does not understand what “to taste” means . I used less sugar and threw in some lime juice…SO REFRESHING!!
It’s amazing. Just add an extra lemon and it’s good.
Those of you complaining about the sweetness- the recipe plainly says add simple syrup TO TASTE.
Made 2/3 recipe; usual simple syrup recipe with 1 to 1 ratio rather than more sugar; added some strawberry juice too for strawberry lemonade.
My daughter and grandsons love the lemonade. Unfortunately I don’t have lemon trees so have had to rely on neighbours to get enough lemons as they drink it faster than I can make it. It is winter in South Africa so the lemonade must be very beneficial for winter health, is delicious and sooo easy to make. Thanks.
I just made this, it was the best lemonade I ever had. I used large lemons, I reduced the sugar by 1/4 cup and added an extra cup of water to the final product.
Absolutely delicious!! Some friends and I had a bbq this weekend and I promised my son I would make lemonade. Put away the powdered stuff people and make this! It was totally worth it. I have a small mint plant and added mint to it and it was so refreshing. I’m planning on buying more lemons this week. If you have a Kitchenaid mixer and you don’t have the the juicer attachment, get it! Makes this so seamless to make since you let the machine do the work!! I made the simple syrup on the stove and juiced the lemons while the sugar dissolved. I couldn’t believe how easy and refreshingly satisfying this recipe was to make and enjoy! One of my friends commented that it rivaled Chick-fil-a’s lemonade. lol. As others mentioned you could cut back on the sugar if you prefer. I used the recommended amount and thought it was fine.
It ended up being way too sweet for me. I had to dilute it with more water.
This was delicious, and so easy to make! I made a pitcher for the 4th of July, and it disappeared quickly. I don’t think the person who said it was too sweet understood the directions. “To taste” means you determine how sweet you want it. I added the simple syrup gradually, a tablespoon or two at a time, until I liked the way it tasted. I can’t wait to make it again!
This was the very first time that I ever tried to make homemade lemonade and it was a great success!Just the right amount of tart and sweet. The perfect refreshment for a hot summer day!
Please cut the sugar. Add a little salt. So much bettet. Thank you, you will be pleased.
it was alright but not bad
Very tasty. Good recipe
My favorite go to recipe. The only thing different I do is zest my lemons and soak them in the sugar it gives it a wonderful flavor.
