Berries and Cream Smoothie

  4.8 – 4 reviews  • Strawberry

If you’ve ever had berries in a bowl with some sugar and whipping cream on top, you know how delicious it is. If you haven’t tried it yet, you might want to hold off so you don’t develop an addiction. Here is a delicious dish that tastes just like it, whether or not you have ever tasted it. It is merely in a drinking, portable form. Add berries and/or whipped cream as a garnish.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Total Time: 5 mins
Servings: 3
Yield: 3 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup heavy cream
  2. ¾ cup half-and-half
  3. ¼ cup white sugar
  4. ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  5. 1 cup frozen blueberries
  6. 1 cup frozen strawberries
  7. ½ cup frozen raspberries
  8. ½ cup frozen blackberries
  9. ½ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Pour cream and half-and-half into an electric blender and blend on low speed until it begins to thicken. Add sugar and vanilla extract and mix for about 30 seconds. Add blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Blend until smooth, adding milk if necessary to make blending easier.
  2. If you choose to use fresh fruits instead of frozen, then you can simply add 1 to 2 cups of ice and omit the last 1/2 cup milk.
  3. The 3/4 cup half-and-half may be substituted with regular milk (though it won’t be quite as thick and creamy).

Love it and so easy I used strawberry kefir instead of the milk

This makes a delicious, but spoonable smoothie, rather than a “sippable” one. I brought -as is – to work, but saved half for when I returned home. I then thinned it with unsweetened vanilla almond milk after also straining the seeds through a fine-mesh strainer. I used a mixed berry frozen blend rather than individual types.
