Basil Tea with Hibiscus

Ingredients

  1. 4 ½ cups water
  2. 5 dried hibiscus petals
  3. 3 tablespoons sliced fresh basil leaves, or more to taste
  4. 2 teaspoons grated lime zest
  5. 3 teaspoons black tea leaves

Instructions

  1. Fill a stovetop kettle with water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat; add hibiscus, basil, lime zest, and tea leaves. Stir once or twice and cover. Let steep for 3 to 5 minutes before serving.

I scaled this down to 1 serving and added a bit of honey for sweetness before serving. I also used Barry’s Tea, which is a wonderful Irish black tea. I enjoyed this, as a mid-afternoon “stress reliever”. Not sure how much stress it relieved, but it was tasty!
