Absolutely fantastic. The only change I made was to simmer the syrup until it just started to thicken. I’ll never buy DiSaronno again.

Very good, I added 2 tablespoons glycerin and made it 5 star, so smooth.

Super easy and everyone loves it! Third year I’m making it for Christmas. I use Everclear to give it a kick.

Best Amaretto recipe ever.

Magnificent! Just like store bought. I used a bit less vanilla, otherwise I made it as listed.

This turns out great! I use this recipe all the time and save a ton of money on buying expensive amaretto. I usually reduce the sugar a little bit, and I also usually add a couple of whole cloves and a little bit of a cinnamon stick to the boiling water to add a little more depth. It’s still very sweet, but since I usually mix with it that is perfect.

This was a perfect amaretto- thank you for this version.

Made this for my friend’s birthday. Very good recipe, may use a little less sugar next time, but overall a winner.

great recipe though simply using hot water is sufficient to dissolve the sugar. Also, I added a little molasses to compensate for the not so dark brown sugar I had on hand. That gave it a much nicer finish.

Absolutely delicious

I love this. I’ve been making for a couple years now. Will never go back to store bought. Every time I make it I give some away and they love it. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve made many batches over the past two years and this is an excellent recipe!! My only regret is not having found it before all the money I spent on Disaronno! I drink it with diet cream soda to “help” cut the calories.( I can’t afford sugar substitutes) I make this recipe x 4 and store it in my frig in mason jars. I have a pour spout that fits them which makes it easy to pour. The almond extract cost was high, I now order 32 oz bottles from Amazon, as well as 11 oz bottles of vanilla. To make my quadrupled batch that is one 750 ml bottle of vodka plus one cup and everything else X 4. I also cool quickly by running cold water several times in the sink or an ice bath surrounding pan to cool quickly before adding the alcohol. Enjoy!!

no one would ever believe it was home made. I will never buy amaretto from the store again

This absolutely to die for. Taste more like Disarona then any I’ve ever had. I make double batches. I also took another’s idea and boil it for at least two three minutes. It gives it the rich deep body if store Amaretto.

I made it exactly the way it is written. My wife, who loves Amaretto, said it was great. I poured it off in 4 ounce jars for easy drinking.

Oh YES! We love Disarrono, but it just costs too much now that we are on retirement funds. So I made this today. Gave my hubby 2 glasses and asked which one he liked best. He chose THIS one! That’s how good this is! Will be making lots more and never have to spend that good money on good booze! I used just 1 cup of vodka – I used a mid priced one, and doubled everything else. Also let the sugar water mixture cook for about 5 minutes after boiling, as per others suggestions. It is a little darker than the “real stuff”, but not put off by that at all. Really Really Good!

This was great!! I’ve had a number of people try it and it’s been well received! Love the taste!

Very nice. Made exactly as per recipe. Next time I will try half-half on the brown and white sugars. Thanks!

Couldn’t be happier with this recipe. It was easy to make. And it’s absolutely delicious! I used dark brown sugar as many reviewers suggested. And now have to do another batch – went through the first one in under a week. Thank you, Marjory! I’m now very popular…

tastes good
