My mum was frequently asked for this recipe by others. I need it in order to eat chopped vegetables. Works well as a light summer supper or as an appetizer to entice folks to eat their vegetables.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Total Time: 5 mins
Servings: 1
Yield: 1 cocktail

Ingredients

  1. 1 fluid ounce amaretto liqueur
  2. 1 fluid ounce Tennessee whiskey (such as Jack Daniels ®)
  3. ½ fluid ounce sloe gin
  4. 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  5. 1 cup ice

Instructions

  1. Combine amaretto, whiskey, sloe gin, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a chilled cordial glass.

This is a southern classic! Expect sweet!!! To some the name suggests a shooter but it is a Collins glass cocktail. Slammer refers to its dangerously deceptive sweet over strong nature.

This was nice, though I must admit, as written it’s a little perplexing to me. It’s too much for a shooter, yet not enough (and too sweet) for a “cocktail” (though it’s called a “cocktail”). I solved this by simply topping it off w/Diet 7-Up for a very enjoyable cocktail. Cheers!
