I dolled it up a bit with my own spin! Have fun with it.
I added more chili powder and cumin and used taco cheese and it was a huge hit. I’ve taken it to two parties!!!!! You have to make sure the cream cheese is soft and they will blend perfectly!!!
I’ve been making this dip forever and it’s so good and really addictive. It’s really important to use meaty tomatoes like Roma or paste tomatoes AND taking out the seedy, juicy parts to toss. If you don’t, the juice will work its way into the dip and make it really soupy. Drying the lettuce on a paper towel is also helpful for the same reason. This dip is super addictive – I’ve eaten it in lieu of meals more than once, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Truly, it’s really hard to mess this up and easy to multiply. Dicing up the tomatoes is the “hardest” part.
Turned out great! Pretty much followed the recipe and added a finely chopped jalapeño as well as 1 chopped sweet pepper. Additionally, topped it with chopped green onion. If I make it again, I may add a bit more taco seasoning to the base, felt like it could have used a bit more flavor. Am taking it to a Super Bowl party tonight!
I made this twice and it was a big hit! Both times, I served it with taco sauce on the side. The first time, I added green onions, and the second time, I added red onions. I got compliments both times! I also like the idea of adding jalapeno peppers which I plan to try next time!
Fun to make and Oh So Delicious
This is the recipe I always use. I copy the base/dip exactly but I add some different toppings. Instead of green pepper, I use jalapeno pepper on half.
Soooo goood highly recommended made many times
One of my favorite dips. My niece loves it.
Tastes great and was very easy to make. Me and my family love this recipe!
Great recipe. I only used 2 tomatoes and half a green bell pepper. Also, I added an extra half cup of cheese and used 8 Oz of a shredded lettuce bag
So easy and delicious! Like another reviewer, I top mine with salsa.
So easy to make.
I’ve made this a couple of times and get happy results from my grandchildren..
I made it vegan, with Yves plant based pepperoni, and it was good, it even got the approval of my non vegan sister and I will diffidently make it again
This has been my “go-to” for many years! I add chopped red onion to the toppings list as I love them and they add nice color, but are also easy to see for those that don’t care for them. Green onions are also a tasty topping if red is too strong.
I did use a can of retried beans on the bottom. This was a really good dip.
This used to be a standard at family parties 30 years ago. I was glad to find the recipe again. Guests love it!
Great! Just added green onions on top. and used sweet orange pepper
Great recipe for any party or get together! Quick and easy. Used pico de gallo instead of tomatoes and green peppers. ***To avoid soupy dip make sure lettuce is dried very well! Enjoy!!
Turned out beautiful very good!
