Spicy Game Day Dip

Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  2. 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  3. Kosher salt
  4. 1 cup full-fat Greek yogurt
  5. 1/2 cup tahini
  6. 1 tablespoon zaatar spice
  7. 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  8. 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  9. Serving suggestions: crumbled halva, extra-virgin olive oil and flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Place the lemon juice, garlic and 3/4 teaspoon salt in a food processor and pulse until the garlic is finely minced. Add the yogurt, tahini, zaatar, red pepper flakes and thyme; puree until smooth.
  2. Transfer the dip to a bowl and, if desired, serve garnished with halva, a drizzle of olive oil and some flaky sea salt.

It comes out very thick and creamy, as if it’s cream cheese based. I love the creaminess of this. It’s creamy, nutty (from tahini), and a bit spicy. I loved eating this with apple slices.

I have made this a couple of times now and my guests love it.  It is lighter than hummus with a little spicy kick.  I serve it with veggie chips.  This is a great addition to my usual game food menu.
