Total Time: 50 mins
Servings: 8
Yield: 1 9×13-inch cobbler

Ingredients

  1. 3 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  2. ½ cup white sugar
  3. 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  4. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  5. ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  6. ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  7. 2 tablespoons white sugar
  8. 2 tablespoons quick-cooking oats
  9. 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
  10. ¼ teaspoon salt
  11. ½ cup unsalted butter, melted, divided
  12. ⅛ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat a convection oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Pour sliced strawberries for filling into a bowl. Add sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon; mix to combine.
  3. Mix flour, both sugars, oats, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt for topping in another bowl until combined. Add 1/4 cup melted butter and stir until thoroughly combined and crumbly.
  4. Combine remaining 1/4 cup melted butter, milk, and remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a small dish.
  5. Pour the strawberry mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle crumb mixture over top. Pour butter mixture over the crumb topping.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven on the convection setting until topping is golden brown, 30 to 40 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
  7. One pound of medium-sized fresh strawberries should yield about 3 cups sliced.
  8. This was baked in a convection oven. Check your own settings and watch it to make sure it doesn’t burn.

This was super yummy! My husband and daughter both said it was perfect! I agree, it was the perfect combination of sweet and tart, a perfect dessert! We served it with a dollop of whipped cream. It would be equally delicious with ice cream! We’ll definitely be adding it to our dessert rotation.

My 1 lb of strawberries yielded only 2 1/2 cups. Consequently it was a bit on the sweet side. I baked it in an 9 x 9 dish. It would not have been enough to cover a 9 x 13 dish. The crumble was chewy in some parts but otherwise an easy, quick and tasty cobbler.

This was very good! I made it for Mother’s Day because my mother loves strawberries. It was very easy to make. My only tweaks would be to use a little less cinnamon than the recipe calls for. We served it over vanilla ice cream. Yum!
