SOOOOO GOOOOOD!!!
Love the taste – very very sweet. My issue is how runny it is. I even drained the strawberries before using them in the frosting. It was melting at any temp over 72
This frosting was so good! I didn’t have frozen strawberries, so I used blueberries instead. It was a little lumpy, but was still some of the best icing I’ve ever tasted.
Delicious.! This recipe is so moist and so good. I made it for a family gathering and everyone loved it. It was gone in minutes. Thanks so much for the post. Will definitely be making it again and again.
This turned out good. Used fresh picked strawberries. The cake still had a bit of that fake strawberry taste due to the jello. I would like to find a recipe that only uses fresh strawberries for the flavor. I liked the frosting since it was more natural tasting.
This cake was awesome!!!!!!
Half the sugar, soften the butter, can use fresh strawberries – just cut into small pieces and mash with potato masher. I baked it all in one big cake pan and needed to increase baking time by 15 min for total of 45 min. Fun and easy recipe!
We made cupcakes. The cake tasted like a box strawberry cake with mushy strawberries inside. Appetizing? The icing was chalky and we wasted money. I am keeping the cupcakes and going to buy store icing to salvage it.
Great cake! Made this for my husbands birthday and it was a big hit…I will definitely be making this again.
This cake and frosting are amazing! If you love strawberries, you will love this! It’s so delicious, moist and fruity. All who had a piece said it reminded them of a fruit smoothie! We like to keep it refrigerated and eat it cold….yum! Thanks for sharing this recipe! I will definitely make it again.
LOVED THE CUPCAKES! I used another icing though. I didn’t like the icing. I used super moist cake mix white instead of yellow but followed the instructions for everything else. The icing I used was a completely different recipe. After trying this icing twice, it was too sticky and I didn’t want to waste any more of my butter trying it.
Love this! Best birthday cake or summertime treat!
Made as listed. Didn’t care for the frosting personally but my SO enjoyed it.
I made this for a summer dinner w my family. They LOVE it. Now it’s my daughter’s request for her birthday cake!
I made this but used DH strawberry cake mix instead of yellow cake mix and it was the best cake I’ve ever made! I cooked it in a bundt cake pan
These tasted great but I had a hard time getting the frosting to stiffen up. Maybe too many strawberries or the juice??
I have made this for years, and it is wonderful! Often requested by my kids. It’s very easy. I usually have kept it covered in the refrigerator if there is any left to store.
My coffee gang thought it was wonderful! I loved it. I made it in a cake rather than cupcakes. I think it’s faster & easier to carry. I did use yellow cake mix as I think white mix tends to be dry. This is a personal preference.
I just made the strawberry icing. As other reviewers suggested, I drained the strawberries but it was still really soupy. Overall, it just tasted like sugar.
Excellent!
I used a strawberry cake mix instead of yellow. It came out so moist. I was very pleased. Next time I will put freshly sliced strawberries on top.
