I can’t claim sole ownership of this recipe for Carolina-style BBQ sauce. To find the solution, I had to go around, snoop, and try things. Thank you, Big Daddy’s! I’ve had barbecue in some of the cutest tiny spots in the Carolinas, and they are the masters of the art! It tastes great on pork, or you could try brushing some over chicken while it cooks on the grill. For the finest flavor, use freshly ground pepper. For a few weeks, this keeps in the refrigerator.

This is an excellent and easy way to glaze a cake. Be sure to use quality chocolate. If yours resulted in a grainy texture, it means you did not use a quality chocolate. Heat on low and do not let your bowl touch the hot water. The result is devine.
Smooth like silk
Beautiful, easy glaze – used it on brownies, YUM!
Easy and it did the job as a glaze for a bundt cake. I did it in a glass measuring cup in the microwave as suggested. Less mess and much easier than doing it in a double boiler.
Easy Peasy to make and it’s yummy too! I think it cooled to much and so it didn’t drizzle exactly like I wanted it to down the sides. Strawberries inside the four tiered cake!
Would double the recipe next time. I also added one extra Tablespoon of butter.
This was a huge hit with my daughter for her birthday cake. Great for people that don’t love globs of traditional frosting on their cake. I made it exactly as written, didn’t change a thing. I would recommend doubling the recipe for a large cake. Mine barely covered a regular sized cake with little left to drop over the sides.
Just perfect! I use it on a Bundt cake recipe for an oh so easy topping. Be sure to lick the spoon or spatula before tossing in the dishwasher so as not to miss a drop of this delicious glaze!
I followed recipe exactly and it was perfect on the chocolate Bundt cake( also from this site)
This is great!
I doubled the recipe and added a bit more corn syrup. I recommend: Melt the butter in the microwave, add the corn syrup and vanilla. Whisk. Then add small chips or bits of chocolate. Microwave for 30 seconds and stir the warm mixture until all the chocolate melts. Smooth and yummy. Dipped 6 large strawberries and poured the rest over a cooled 9×13 cake. Plenty!
I was hoping for a softer glaze. This set up hard.
Perfect as written! I wouldn’t necessarily call it a glaze because to me a glaze is thinner and semi transparent. This is more of a frosting that pours or spoons easily. It looked beautiful and tasted magnificent! I read a few negative reviews before making this and I honestly can’t imagine anyone having trouble with this. I’m not an expert cook and I don’t have a double boiler. I melted the chocolate chips in the microwave for one minute and then added the butter, corn syrup and extract. I stirred until all the chips were melted and smooth. Easy! I’ll definitely use this again.
The perfect glaze for a Bundt cake or dipping cupcakes in
I made it exactly as written. It was delicious. Not too sweet. It was a bit thick to pour as a glaze, but I was able to spread it over the top and a bit on the sides.
Very good & super easy to make!
Best chocolate glaze ever!
Very easy to make and it turned out perfectly. I did not change a thing. Because the glaze hardens you can sprinkle on mini chocolate chips. ,Chopped nuts, sprinkles, etc. before it hardens.
I made this to glaze a dozen homemade chocolate cake doughnuts, and now wondering why it took me so long to try this recipe! We don’t buy corn syrup so I simply used honey instead. This one’s a keeper for sure!
Have made this many times! Absolutely delicious!
I didn’t like this at all. Consistency is fine, although I prefer it thinner, but it’s the taste I don’t care for. It tastes like melted chocolate chips. Not like any chocolate glaze I’ve ever had, and not in a good way. Fortunately, it’s easy to swipe off, but I hate that I wasted all the butter and chocolate chips. Also, one batch is not enough for a bundt cake. I doubled it, but I think 1.5x would have been better in terms of quantity. I won’t make this again. I prefer another chocolate frosting recipe on here that I can easily use as a glaze or frosting.
