Ingredients

  1. 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  3. ½ teaspoon baking powder
  4. 1 cup butter, softened
  5. 1 ½ cups white sugar
  6. 1 egg
  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  8. 1 (2.25 ounce) package cinnamon red hot candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a small bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in the dry ingredients.
  3. Roll dough out on lightly floured surface. Cut into heart shapes and place on ungreased baking sheets. Dot cookies with red hot candies.
  4. Bake until golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Let stand on cookie sheet for 2 minutes before removing to cooling racks.

Thank for having this recipe I have been looking for for a long time, first got this one a valentines day card as a kid been looking for it for my Grandchildren.

I wasn’t really impressed with this recipe. It tastes like a bland sugar cookie with an awkward spicy cinnamon kick. I wouldn’t recommend this unless you REALLY liked the taste of spicy cinnamon and in which case I suggest making just a cinnamon cookie.
