This dessert cake made with pig pudding is very amazing. It is equally sinful when prepared with pistachio pudding, which we have also done.

Almost a disaster and another trip to the store because the recipe states 3 cups of milk!! The mixture was excessively watery, so had to add another box to the mix (although I didn’t have chocolate on hand). Would have really been upset if I had to make a trip to the store just to make this work. ***Caution, don’t use 3 cups of milk as stated in the recipe, follow the instructions on the box of pudding***
SO very simple to make and delish! Everyone at our cookout loved it and wanted the recipe. Will use this recipe going forward for a quick, easy and delicious dessert that goes with any celebration or holiday.
Good but ratio of milk to pudding mix is off. Follow the advice of another reviewer – use half the amount of milk that the box of instant pudding mix calls for. Otherwise this is excellent and exactly like my mother used to make. My favorites are lemon or chocolate pudding.
This was a huge hit at my house! I have made it several times now and there is never any left. Everyone ‘s favorite.
This is a great, light desert that I will make again with other flavors of pudding. I added cocoa powder to the flour, butter and nut mixture because I felt the crust could use some other flavoring and it was a good addition. I used 2 cups lactose free milk for the pudding and it didn’t set up as firm as it should have but that’s all I had to use.
The pudding part was pretty runny so next time I will use 2 boxes of the pudding. It is easy to make but I was disappointed in how runny it became, even after I had cut back on the milk
Excellent dessert. Any flavor pudding works. Use your imagination.
I have another recipe that is similar to this where I Top it with real whipping cream. So I thought I would try this. It was absolutely delicious but DO NOT put 3 cups of milk in the instant pudding. Only put 2 like what iIT SAYS On the package. I did 3 like the recipe says and it was way to thin. I ended out having to add another package of Instant pudding and one more cup of milk. So the recipe had double the pudding but hey who doesn’t love pudding?
It was delicious, like having cake, ice cream and pie all in 1 yummy, festive dessert! I substituted french vanilla pudding and chopped pecans because that was what I had on hand. Decided to spice it up by adding 1 can of blueberry pie filling to the pudding. It was a definite HIT at the birthday party for 2 of my granddaughters. The family decided it has become a “family fave” for Nonnie’s special desserts!
very tasty, I froze leftovers too!
Made it Justin like the recipe calls except double it and used a larger pan. Crust was a little thicker band it got rave reviews!
Loved this. Took it to a dinner with friends. It was a great hit. The only difference I made was to not put the walnuts on top. I used mini milk chocolate chips on top.
is the best thing i ever tasted my family makes it all the time
Excellent recipe!!
Love it, comfort food by far…and boy oh boy the Grandbaby’s loved it, especially when they get to help MawMaw bake and cook….Love that tradition..
I made this delicious recipe last minute for my family at Christmas. I made it in the 9×13 pan and none was left. Literally people were scrapping the bowl asking for the recipe. The only change I made to the recipe that I feel made it better was that I made a homemade graham cracker crust that I prefer over the one listed in the recipe. Just a personal preference, but yes! We all pigged out on this one!! Make it! It’s awesome!!
Do NOT USE 3 cups of milk only use 2 or pudding will not set, will ruin the whole dessert
This was a hit! I used 2 boxes of pudding following the directions on the pudding box. I think the chocolate layer would be too thin using 1 box. I added coconut on top of the crust and put it back in the oven until the coconut was toasted. I am going to make it again using crushed salted peanuts in place of the walnuts. Great recipe!
This is a wonderful dessert. Use two boxes of pudding. The crust tastes better with pecans, and I like to put chopped up Heath bars on top. It’s always a big hit.
Did not set up.
This was a hit! Added a TBLS of almond extract to the crust and added a layer of freshly sliced bananas on top of the pudding layer which made it taste like a banana split. This made it a 5 star for my taste.
