This recipe, which has been in our family for more than 30 years, originates from my mother. Everywhere it is served, it is the first dish to disappear. For potlucks, holidays, football games, or a meal or appetizer at home, I cook it. Although I would classify this dish as more difficult, it is simple to learn. I am asked for this recipe the most. your preferred marinara sauce on the side. Very good at freezing!

This recipe was absolutely terrible. I love this site but the recipe wasn’t edible! It was burnt and ruined my mug. Don’t waste your time on this recipe. My mug cracked after trying to get it out. I followed the recipe exactly but it just didn’t work. I was trying to make this for a surprise for my mom. I chose this recipe because it seemed little to no mess and easy. Now I have nothing and I’m one mug short. Overall, terrible recipe, would NEVER recommend, and would only recommend to my worst enemy. DO NOT TRY! (I would have rated it 0 stars, but it wasn’t an option.)
What on earth was this supposed to be? A sugar cookie, right? Followed the directions as-is. Microwaved about 50-60 seconds, and stopped since it was inflating a lot. End result is a mildly-sweet, fluffy, dense, and rubbery cake-like concoction. Used all-purpose flour, sugar, and light brown sugar. Large egg. It’s…interesting, but not a cup cake, cookie, or anywhere in between. Sorta weird.
Inedible. Can’t even get my fork through it
It was good!
It was okay. Tasted a little weird but overall it was better then expected
Super dry and dense (followed the directions) but I did use sunbutter instead of pb and plant butter
i didnt like it at all it tated like flavorless spongy wet cake
As is, it was a lovely treat to end supper. I used chunky peanut butter. I’m going to increase the sugar to one white and two brown sugar as I felt it could be a touch sweeter, but I quite enjoyed it. Round two is tonight! 🙂
did this with weed butter 10/10 recommend
I am a high school student and had to make a mug recipe for my culinary arts class I wasn’t expecting it to be edible but it tasted ok almost like a peanut butter cake my siblings loved it it could be in proved I cooked for three minutes and it was a bit over cooked I will definitely try it again and maybe add something or less of something to make it better but other than it not being a cookie It was ok and tasted good
I used a bowl. It wasn’t my favorite. I added chocolate to sweeten it.
Followed instructions and didn’t taste as good. Felt like the cook time was a little too much. Didn’t enjoy enough to try again to test my theory.
I made this recipe when I got bored and I was pleasantly surprised! I was expecting it to turn out as more of a cookie, mine turned out more of a cake. (It’s still really good though!) the only suggestion I have would be to add more peanut butter!
Super great!
My ten year old granddaughter made it and it was delicious! She added a little milk to the mug once it was done and everyone loved it
If you make as directed it will not be pleasant. Shorten the time to 45-50 seconds and use just the egg yolk not a whole egg it’s quite good, especially when you add 1 tbsp. Peanut butter chips.
no, I will not make it again sorry
It was such a fun little thing to make, but instead of white and brown sugar I just used brown sugars and it came out just as good!
It was really rubbery.
It was so so spongy and did not at all taste like peanut butter. Overall, I think its a good concept, but it needs some tweaks to be edible.
It burnt inside the mug. It got so hot that it caught paper towels in the garbage can on fire when we tried to dump out the charred remains of this failed midnight snack. It also somehow boiled over in the microwave. I didn’t even know cookies could do that!
