It came out beautifully! I also reduced the milk to 3/4, and used 2 tsp. of BP, not Tblsps. and I added some honey and a beaten egg to the fruit, 1 cup each of strawberries and rhubarb. Served with whipped cream, they loved it!
I substituted Splenda for sugar. It turned out great!
My family, friends and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this dessert! I’ve actually made it twice the first one I forgot to take a picture. I did make alterations to the recipe instead of just peaches and raspberries I also added blackberries to the first one. The second one was by far my favorite I made that one with very ripe plums, peaches, blackberries, red raspberries and Unsweetened Vanilla Almond milk. That’s the one you see in the picture above. it’s actually much brighter in person but I had to turn the brightness down in order to upload the picture cuz it was over the MB’s. I love how easy this recipe is, but the best part about it is that it is super easy to make it with whatever you have in the house you don’t have to specifically do peaches and raspberries it works well with everything else! I hope you do try it and put your own twist on it.
Wasn’t as tasty as I thought it would be; more sour than sweet.
This recipe calls for 2 TABLESPOONS of Baking Powder–with only 1-1/4 cups of flour that MUST be too much baking powder!! I used 2 teaspoons of baking powder and my cobbler look just like your picture.
I made this with canned raspberry flavored peaches and fresh raspberries… it turned out amazing the crust is so crunchy even mixed in with vanilla ice cream it stayed crisp ! I also used half brown sugar and half natural turbinado sugar and forgot to put the hot water over the fruit and it was still great my whole entire family loved it and my twin 17 yr old twin sons are a hard critic they will tell you if it’s not good it was all gone in 30 minutes!??????
No changes, I did it just like the recipe. We loved it. Next time, I want to try blueberries in place of the raspberries.
It is wonderful! I was short on Peaches so I put in peeled plums and I didn’t have Raspberries so I put in frozen (I thawed) Raspberries, blueberries and blackberries mix. I loved the way the flour mixture came up and over the top of the berries. If I was to change anything I might check my fruit mixture and add a little more sugar. I think my berries were a little to tart. But…Great recipe. Will use it again.
I used a gluten free flour blend in the same proportion and it worked out just fine. I also followed someone else’s suggestion of using brown sugar instead of white on the peaches which gave it a nice flavor. Easy to make. Definitely a keeper.
I will never forget this recipe ! Delicious ! Made it with gluten free flour ! Still Delicious !
It tasted horrible, completely inedible, bitter, awful.
This is the BEST cobbler I’ve ever had. Wow wow WOW!!!.
Be careful!!! I think recipe has a misprint 2 tablespoons of baking powder is way too much. I would use 2 teaspoons
So easy to make. I did cut down on the milk to 3/4 cup but I have made it with the full cup and not too much difference. This is a southern staple.
I also followed this recipe to a T. There was way too much baking powder. i am thinking this was a typo? my one son also hated it. My husband and older son did not notice anything….could different people be more tolerant of the metallic taste?
This is now the only way I will ever think of preparing peach cobbler again! The only difference in my preparation was that I baked it using apple wood in my smoker. It was absolutely heavenly. Thank you so much for this fantastic recipe!
Easy and excellent recipe! I followed the recipe, the only change I made was to use brown sugar instead of white sugar. It came out a perfect cobbler. I will say this: Be sure to melt the butter in the pan, in the oven. Adding the batter to the hot butter and hot pan made the batter start to cook early on. Almost immediately, as a matter of fact.
Very tasty.
This was absolutely delicious. Almost too rich; I used only 3/4 cup of sugar for the batter. Also, used about half the amount of baking powder to avoid spilling over. Used 3/4 cup milk because the batter was pretty liquidy at that point. After the butter was melted along the bottom of the dish, I poured most of the excess out.
I am an avid baker and have been for quite some time. I am rating this recipe two stars because I followed the directions and ingredients to a “T”. My mistake is that I should have listened to my instincts when it came to the Baking Powder. I thought Two Tablespoons would be too much. It was. Sorry I could not have rated it better, I am entertaining the thought of trying the recipe again with TWO teaspoons of Baking Powder, or, looking for another recipe.
This recipe turned out to be a delicous treat.
