Chili should be served over spaghetti and topped with chopped onion, Cheddar cheese that has been finely grated, kidney beans, and Tabasco sauce. Skyline Cincinnati-style chili was once my favorite. I created this Skyline lentil chili when I decided to go vegetarian to give me that Skyline flavor. Whereas the traditional Cincinnati-style would utilize ground beef, I substitute green or black lentils. This is still my favored method of obtaining my Skyline fix even if I have resumed eating meat.

A great experience. Textures, flavors, crunch, smooth. I wanted a strong but subtle addition. I added 1/4 t. ground cloves, a T. of cinnamon. A favorite now.
This apple crisp recipe is great! I used 5 apples from my apple tree. Thank you!
I know this is good. Sorry not to see comments on how it tasted with just the nutmeg spice alone… its got my curiosity up!
My whole family loved this. It was easy to make. I did cheat a little and added a little Carmel topping when I served it.
Very good. Love the crumble. Thanks for the recipe. Will make again.
I used less brown sugar and added cinnamon because hubby loves it.
I doubled the recipe to the letter. I served it to our bridge group of 12 with ice cream. Everyone asked that I send them th e recipe! My husband and I got to enjoy leftovers!
Added cinnamon. Fantastic!
Will definitely make this again! I used winesap apples, doubled the oats and added cinnamon to the topping….I had pecans open so used those rather than walnuts. It was delicious!!! On 2nd night we had a little butter pecan ice cream with it. Yum! Update: made again tonight, I added even more oats in hopes of getting a crumble instead of a shell but I over did it and it doesn’t wanna bind at all. It still tastes great but I’ll go back to the way I first did it. So happy I found this recipe.
This apple crisp is delicious. I increased the nutmeg to 1 teaspoon and added 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.
I do not plan to make this again. My family did not care for it–too sweet & too much cinnamon.
Excellent!
Delicious! Based on other reviews, I added 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, otherwise made the recipe as is. Some reviewers noted that the recipe was too sweet, but the type of apples used could certainly make a difference. I used Honey Crisp apples, but any tart apple would be great.
Excellent. The walnuts really make this an outstanding crunchy apple crisp. And yes add a bit of vanilla and cinnamon. Otherwise make as directed and bake as directed. A winner
Just add a tablespoon of tapioca to the bottom and it soaks up the liquid so is not to sloppy.
Made it with whole wheat flour and coconut oil. Yum! Love the nuts.
Used 1/2 tsp nutmeg and 1/4 tsp cinnamon. I would make it again. Co-workers enjoyed it.
Really liked the nuts! Also added 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 cloves. Used pecans instead of walnuts. Put in 1/2 c extra oats.
I used 1 1/2 cups of oats.. I found this a bit too sweet for me… I could probably use about half the amount of sugar..
Picked apples from the two apple trees in my backyard. Not sure what variety (resembled red delicious), but they made 4 apple crisps. Used an apple/potato corer/peeler. They were sweet enough that I halved the brown sugar to 1/2 c, doubled the oats to 1 c, and adjusted the spices to 2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, and 1/4 tsp cloves. Also filled the pans generously, leaving enough room for the topping, and served with vanilla ice cream.
Really good, I cut it back to about 2 servings but didn’t measure everything exact and added a bit of cinnamon for our own tastes bakes them in individual ramekins. Will be making this a lot this fall and winter.
