For your cakes or cupcakes, create a light, airy buttercream icing with natural vanilla flavor. To produce a smooth texture, make sure the components are at room temperature.

Yield: | 1 3/4 cups frosting |
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- ¾ cup mascarpone cheese, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon Madagascar vanilla paste
Instructions
- Place powdered sugar and butter in an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Start mixing on the lowest speed. Increase speed to medium and beat until fluffy, scraping down the sides occasionally, about 3 minutes.
- Add mascarpone cheese and vanilla paste; mix on medium-low until creamy. Do not overmix frosting at this point, or the butter and mascarpone could separate.
Reviews
This frosting came out so fluffy and light! It was delicious.
Awesome! Will make it again and again
its delish, however I made a mistake in adding the ingredients wrong and the buttercream split. Does anybody know if this is fixable? thanks
I added cocoa powder and Kirsch flavoring ( in lieu of the vanilla paste) and it was delicious on a chocolate cake.
Kids liked it too!
