My favorite lava cake of all time! Serve these rich, molten chocolate cakes with vanilla ice cream or powdered sugar on top. This recipe yields four delectable little treats.

Ingredients
- 6 ½ (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
- ½ cup butter, cut into 8 pieces
- 3 eggs, room temperature
- ⅓ cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease and flour four 6-ounce ramekins.
- Place chocolate and butter in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Stir frequently, scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to avoid scorching, until chocolate is melted, about 5 minutes.
- Combine eggs and sugar in a large bowl; beat with an electric mixer until pale and thick, about 5 minutes. Mix in melted chocolate, flour, and cocoa powder until combined. Pour batter into the prepared ramekins and place on a baking tray.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the sides are set but the middle is still jiggly, 10 to 13 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Absolutely delicious lava cakes! I added 1 tsp of vanilla to the batter; otherwise I followed the recipe as written. I got four wonderfully decadent and super chocolaty little cakes out of this. I served them topped with powdered sugar and some sweet-tart cherries. They were heavenly! Thank you so much for sharing your recipe!
Very quick and easy and so delish!!! Chocolate yum sensation. I used cocoa powder instead of choc squares. Baked them in the air fryer for 6 1/2 min at 375. Even faster! Served with whipped cream and maraschino cherries.
Purposely filled in smaller portions for my first try. So rich. So easy! But watch your cook time if not as gooey as expected. My new go to fancy dessert.
Turned out great. I used 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. I melted the chips and butter in the microwave. I baked for 12 minutes and they came out perfect.
AMAZING LAVA CAKE RECIPE! I wanted to make a memorable dessert for my Son’s 25th birthday. He loves Lava Cake so I found this recipe on the All Recipes website. I doubled the recipe and made 6 medium ramekins. I baked the cakes about 3 minutes longer due to the larger ramekins then cooled them 5 minutes, ran a butter knife around the outside and flipped onto dessert plates. The chocolate oozed out perfectly. My Son was so impressed and the whole family loved the cakes. I served them with vanilla ice cream. I will definitely make this again. Thanks All Recipes for another great recipe!
It was absolutely delicious. The baking is the difficult part. So I’ve made it 3 times and once it was over cooked. I used old fashioned custard cups and added a circle of greased parchment paper to the bottom of the cup and they came out easily.
Sooo good! My daughter made these for me for my birthday! I loooved them. She said that she added a bit more chocolate to them and they were perfect.
This recipe is so chocolaty and gooy, where it’s supposed to be, like lava cake. It was so easy to make and so delicious. I prepared it just as directed and cooked it for 11 minutes. Perfection!
Great chocolate flavor. I used chocolate chips. Easy to make if you melt the butter & chocolate chips in the microwave. I cooked it in the oven for 12 minutes. I will make it again.
Turned out tasting delicious! But after cooking for about 10 min, it no longer had a jiggly center. Still tasted scrumptious!
Rich, chocolatey goodness! We will definitely make this again. I made the recipe for 4 servings, but because it was so rich, will divide into six smaller servings next time.
Amazing recipe, easy to make.
Turned out well, except center did not flow, could have been how I mixed things.
Next time I’ll try adding a little more baking chocolate. Also, slightly less baking time
Used less chocolate because my son doesn’t like it too chocolaty.
It was our Valentine dessert! Wonderful!
Hi this was an amazing cake I had to make a dessert for class and I did not know what to do and I saw this! It was soooo yummy and everyone loved it
Great for a fast chocolate fix! Easy to follow recipe. Delicious. My teen daughter made these for us. Only changes: used 6 smaller ramekins, and used the microwave to melt butter/chocolate instead of a double boiler. Will definitely make again.
