This dish comes from my husband’s mother-in-law. Every family get-together always includes a request for it.

Additional Time: 30 mins
Total Time: 1 hr
Servings: 12
Yield: 1 9×13-inch cake

Ingredients

  1. 24 vanilla ice cream sandwiches, unwrapped
  2. 2 (8 ounce) containers whipped topping (such as Cool Whip®), thawed
  3. 1 (12 ounce) jar hot fudge ice cream topping, warmed
  4. 1 (12 ounce) jar caramel ice cream topping
  5. ¼ cup chopped pecans, or to taste

Instructions

Repeat layering with remaining ice cream sandwiches, whipped topping, hot fudge topping, and caramel topping, ending with a top layer of whipped topping. Sprinkle with pecans.
  2. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and freeze until set, about 30 minutes.

Everyone loves it. My family requests it for their birthday cake. It’s so so good and easy.

We usually only use the carmel topping and cool whip. We do not use the additional choc topping. We think that would make it too sweet!

Everyone in my family loves this SUPER easy dessert! There are never any leftovers!

My kids couldn’t get enough. Neither could I.

Great summertime dessert choice. I added a drizzle of Kahlua directly on each layer of the sandwiches. Yum.

I make this every year for my families Thanksgiving gathering. Everyone loves it! Instead of using store bought hot fudge, I make my own (which is so easy). I also use the neapolitan ice cream sandwiches and stager them (flip them) in the pan so the flavors aren’t in a single line. People like getting the different combinations of ice cream. I still use the store bought caramel but I take the crushed nuts with me since some people in my family don’t like them. This is an inexpensive and easy dessert that is delicious.

Won 3 place in a dessert category at our church chili cook off. Used toffee crumbles instead of M&M’S.

Ty always requests for his birthday. Didn’t use toppings but crushed Kit Kat chocolate bars mixed with whipped topping (Cool Whip). 12 bars perfect for two layers in glass square pan.

Fabulous recipe, especially when you want don’t want bake. Was afraid this was going to be too sweet but nope, just the right combo. It actually ends up being a relatively light dessert and SUPER simple to make. Not a bad thing to make ahead and have on hand!

This is Too rich! I actually made a cake cut in 2 layers and added in layers center and top. Iced with whipped cream and sprinkled with nuts and syrups. Still rich but not as much. Cut in small pieces.

I make this dessert all the time in the Summer. It’s a hit to take to a cookout. I sometimes put crushed pineapple or sliced strawberries between the layers. Delicious

This is a nice quick desert that everyone loves. A bit on the sweet side so I use half the amount of sauces and add one layer of length cut bananas for banana split sandwich cake. Don’t forget the cherries on top with the nuts. Yummm!

We used ice cream sandwiches that have chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and did sprinkles in place of pecans. huge hit!

Very good and so easy to make. Make sure to get high quality ice cream bars (makes a huge difference). I used Heath English Toffee Bits instead of pecans and got rave reviews from my family. Will definitely make this again.

Every year, my oldest granddaughter asks for this ice cream sandwich cake as her birthday cake. It’s easy to make, no baking involved, and it’s always yummy. Her birthday is in mid-June, so it’s a cool treat. It takes only minutes to make, and can be made the day before and frozen. There’s never any left overs.
