East to make. My mom made these for us as kids. They are popular with everyone that I gift them to!
I have made these for years but never added sugar
These have always been one of my favs. I didn’t realize I was outta chocolate chips so I used white chocolate instead and drizzled with chocolate syrup. Tasty!
I’m giving this a high five bc it’s a great cookie. This time I made them I didn’t have graham crackers. So, I crushed up Ritz crackers and used them in place of the graham crackers. My family says they score a 5+ and want to name the cookies with my substitution Hello Cindy’s.
I did not make any changes, I make them every Christmas and they are scruptious
It had a very yummy taste with all those ingredients together(i didnt include the pecan, but it was ok). The only thing that bothered me was that I couldn`t do the cracker crust. I removed the sugar(as a user recommended) and put just the crackers and the melted butter together but the crumbs didn`t really stick together no matter what I did. Should i use the flaked coconut to stick the crumbs too? Also, I had to put more than 2 cups of crumbs because my pan was really big
Easy to do and delicious!
The recipe specifies the wrong size pan. This should be a 9×13 or 11 x 8. As written, the recipe results in a sticky, greasy, gooey mess. I tried to fix it by additional cooking time at a slightly higher temp. If there is a next time, I would skip the sugar in the crust and reduce the amount of butter. I like the idea of putting the coconut on top for texture. I just prefer shredded coconut, no toasted.
added cranberries; from a bag…
I have been making these for Christmas or Easter for many years. My Grandmother used to make them. I am away for the holidays and didn’t have my recipes with me so I found the same recipe on here! Only thing we do different is first I omit the sugar . Secondly I melt the butter in my dish right in the oven and then layer away! Very Rich Cookie & always a family favorite..
Added glazed mixed cherries Amazing
My mother always made these and were absolutely delicious. Just made these with vegan butter and coconut cream instead of condensed milk for dinner club for some vegans. Works like a charm!
SO EASY TO MAKE. Chewy goodness. I added around 20 chopped maraschino cherries on top.
Very easy to make. Everybody love them and they were gone in minutes.
I made 3 batches of these for Christmas Eve. I didn’t even get to try one. I’m assuming they were good because they were all fine. I can say they smelled delicious. I will be making another batch for myself for New Year’s Eve.
Great recipe, love making these. I have to be careful or I can eat a whole pan by myself.
*Spray pan/dish first. I doubled recipe and that was perfect amount for one 9×13 dish and a smaller 2 qt dish. Did not need quite the amount of chocolate chips as called for. Next time I will try milk chocolate chips, just as a preference.
I used to make these all the time – called 7 layer cookies. Same recipe – different name! Took them to a Christmas gathering & they disappeared rapidly. Only change I will make in the future is to spray pan with butter PAM, since they tend to stick.
Like another cook, I left out the sugar. Fantastic recipe. Turned out just like G-Ma used to make. I will definitely make this again.
I started calling this my crack cake!! They are SO, SO, SO addicitve and good. I made it exactly as written and they turned out amazing. They were gone in minutes
Very simple to make. Everyone on my family enjoyed it.
