Easy Sugar Cone Cornucopias

  3.7 – 3 reviews  • White Chocolate

A festive treat is cornucopia-shaped sugar cones. You could dip them in sprinkles, candy, nuts, you name it! I prefer to dip my in white chocolate and candied ginger. Additionally, you may fill them with any type of fruit (fresh or dried), berries, sweets, nuts, or anything else you can think of!

Prep Time: 25 mins
Cook Time: 5 mins
Additional Time: 1 hr
Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins
Servings: 6
Yield: 6 sugar cones

Ingredients

  1. 6 sugar cones
  2. ¼ cup white chocolate chips
  3. ¼ cup finely chopped candied ginger
  4. ⅔ cup seedless black grapes
  5. ⅔ cup seedless red grapes
  6. ⅔ cup seedless green grapes

Instructions

  1. Wrap 1 sugar cone in a paper towel and place in microwave. Microwave on high for 15 seconds, or until the sugar cone is soft and pliable. Working quickly and carefully, shape the end of the cone upwards into a cornucopia shape and hold it there until the cone re-hardens, about 20 to 30 seconds. Repeat this process with each cone.
  2. Place white chocolate into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, or until chocolate is melted, stirring often. Place the candied ginger in a small wide bowl. Take one of the shaped cones and dip the top of the cone into the melted chocolate, and then into the candied ginger. Set cones on a wire rack to allow the chocolate to set.
  3. Fill each cone with grapes. Place the cones on a serving platter and sprinkle any extra grapes around the cones.

It burned in the microwave. It would have caught fire if I hadn’t been paying attention. Cute idea, but it just doesn’t work.

These looked fabulous!! When microwaving the sugar cones, use your judgement regarding the times. I put the cones in for 20 seconds then another 10 seconds to shape them. Worked out beautifully!! My family thought they were very cute & I loved reusing sugar cones from a summer party. Thank you for the wonderful idea!!

There is literally no way these would burn with only 15 seconds of microwaving. If they burned for you, you are doing something very wrong.
